Description
A Native American hardwood, the American Walnut is a deciduous tree in the walnut family, which can grow to up to 40 metres high. The texture of this timber is fine, with generally straight grain, occasionally displaying an attractive curly or wavy grain pattern.
This beautiful hardwood has a heartwood offering a range of colours, from golden to a rich chocolate brown with occasional streaks of a darker purplish-brown. The timber is moderately hard, tough and strong, with a fairly coarse grain featuring particularly exquisite patterning.
It can be polished to an exceptional finish.
